Concrete Sealer X-1

Concrete Sealer X-1 is a permanent silicate based deep penetrating sealer which means that it is guaranteed to last for the life of your concrete because it chemically bonds to the concrete to become part of its integral structure. It is highly effective in making concrete physically stronger and denser protecting it against frost and salt while increasing its resistance to stains, acids, alkalis, moisture, mold and mildew. This product will cure damp and wet basements by preventing hydrostatic water from penetrating through the concrete. It will also stop dusting, efflorescence, spalling, pitting, crumbling and prevent mold, mildew and algae growth. The product will seal the concrete to significantly reduce the level of radon gas penetration which is known to cause lung cancer by the EPA.

Concrete Sealer X-1 can be used in all commercial and residential applications to treat damp or wet basements, concrete floors, walls, driveways, garages, warehouses, storage tanks, pipes, blocks, grout, mortar and stucco. It can also be used to extend the life of exterior wood including fences, patios, decks, cedar and wood shingles.

Concrete Sealer X-1 is easy to apply using a brush, medium nap roller or low pressure sprayer at any temperature between 40 and 80 degrees F. The surface to be treated does not need any special treatment but it must be oil and dust free to allow proper penetration of the product. It will cover approximately 200 to 400 square feet per gallon depending on the concrete porosity and two coats are recommended. Typically a 5 gallon pail will seal a maxumim of 1,000 square feet of poured concrete using the two required applications(2,000 sq ft total) but this coverage can be lower depending on the porosity. 

Concrete Sealer X-1 penetrates through the capillaries of the concrete to a maxumim depth of up to 4" where it chemically neutralizes damaging chemicals to form a hard insoluble structure based on calcium silicate and calcium hydroxide. Unlike surface coatings this product will not be damaged by efflorescence or be worn down by heavy traffic because it is permanent. 

Concrete Sealer X-1 leaves a natural finish (no sheen) after application, it is UV resistant, non-yellowing, breathable and the surface will not be slippery. This sealer is not a repellant coating so the concrete can be painted after it has been sealed with increased paint adhesion because the sealer neutralizes the alkalis in the concrete preventing saponification of the paint. Adhesives and epoxy coatings can also be applied over the sealed concrete with no adverse effects.

Concrete Sealer X-1 is environmentally friendly, non-toxic and nonflammable because it does not contain chemical solvents or release any VOC or noxious fumes.

After cementitious surfaces have been treated with Concrete Sealer X-1 or Concrete Sealer X-2 they can resist many chemical compounds more effectively including acids, salts, solvents, alcohols and oils as shown in this table.

Concrete Sealer X-2

Concrete Sealer X-2 is a higher concentration product than Concrete Sealer X-1. It creates the same chemical reactions within the concrete as Concrete Sealer X-1 and it has the same physical properties, coverage rates and application procedures.

Concrete Sealer X-2 has been specifically designed to seal very porous concrete or cinder blocks. This product is also recommended for poured concrete if the concrete is more than 10 years old or if signs of seepage or damage such as dusting and efflorescence are already evident. It is also recommended that this product is used on outdoor concrete surfaces which may be exposed to severe weather conditions.

Concrete Sealer X-2 leaves a natural finish (no sheen) after application, it is UV resistant, non-yellowing, breathable and the surface will not be slippery. Concrete Sealer X-3

Concrete Sealer X-3 is a special blend of polysiloxanes which crosslink below the surface of the concrete making the concrete surface water repellant and stain resistant allowing spills to be removed more easily. This product can either be applied alone or on top of the X-1 or X-2 products to provide double protection of the concrete with both deep sealing and a repellant finish.

Concrete Sealer X-3 can be applied on all types of decorative and stained pavers, aggregate driveways and walkways, bricks, clay tiles, sandstone, limestone, marble, granite, slate and any natural stones. It can be used on above grade plaster and stucco providing a breathable barrier against water, stains and acids and will seal hair line cracks. The product can also be used to seal swimming pools and fish ponds to prevent water escaping through the concretes' capilliaries and pores. It can also be used in dog kennels and agricultural institutions to provide stain resistance which assists in the maintenace of these enclosures.

Concrete Sealer X-4

Concrete Sealer X-5

Concrete Sealer X-5 produces a low gloss or satin finish that enhances and protects the appearance of all types of interior and exterior decorative, stained and stamped concrete pavers, brick, mortar, masonry, concrete structures and aggregate driveways.

Concrete Sealer X-5 is a special non-yellowing, UV resistant acrylic copolymer blend which protects the surface of the concrete making it repellant to water, freezing temperatures, rain, sun, pollution and also stain resistant. This product is a VOC Compliant, low odor water based combination of a sealer plus an enhancer. It can also be used as a cure and seal 24 hours after the concrete is poured as long as the concrete is damp and not wet. 

Concrete Sealer X-5 can be used on all types of concrete to make it dustproof. It is particularly effective on exposed aggregate surfaces to reduce wear and to eliminate the problem of loose pebbles. The coating is also USDA approved for meat and poultry areas.  

Concrete Sealer X-5 is a DIY type product which is easy to apply using a brush, medium nap roller or airless sprayer at any temperature between 40 and 80°F. The surface to be treated does not need any special treatment but it must be oil, paint, adhesive and dust free to allow proper adhesion of the product. It will cover approximately 250 to 400 sq. ft. per gallon per application depending on the concretes' porosity and two coats are recommended 4 to 6 hours apart. The product should be applied in two thin coats and not a single thicker coat. Typically a 5 gallon pail will seal a maximum of 1,000 sq. ft. of poured concrete using the two required applications(2,000 sq. ft. total) but this coverage can be lower depending on the porosity and application method.  If you are applying this product to a smooth surface and you want to add slip resistance to the sealer we recommend that you add 1 to 2 packets of Stone Grip to each 5 gallon pail of sealer.

Concrete Sealer X-5 provides a protective coating which enhances the effect of our selection of 15 different easy to use Instant Concrete Dyes that stain and dry on the concrete in only 5 minutes.

Stone Grip

Stone Grip is an anti-slip additive that can be stirred into Concrete Sealer X-4 or Concrete Sealer X-5 when they are applied to very smooth surfaces. It can also be added to any type of coating or paint to provide additional slip resistance.

Stone Grip is a micronized polymer which can be suspended in coatings due to its low density without significantly affecting the viscosity of the coating.

Stone Grip is sold in a 16 ounce container and we recommend adding one or two packets to each 5 gallon pail of our Concrete Sealer products depending on your preference. As the concentration of Stone Grip is increased the more slip resistance that is imparted to the surface but it does also slightly reduce the gloss of the coating.

Concrete Sealer X-6

Concrete Sealer X-6 is a flexible water based single component anti-slip coating for all interior and exterior concrete, brick, asphalt, wood and metal surfaces. It has been formulated for pedestrian traffic areas such as sidewalks, stairways, walkways, ramps and platforms. 

Concrete Sealer X-6 is a special non-yellowing, UV resistant epoxy blend which protects the surface of the concrete making it repellant to water and chemicals such as acids, alkalis, hydraulic fluids, oils, gasoline and most solvents. This product is a VOC Compliant, low odor water based coating for use in any areas where slip potential is a concern in industrial or residential applications.

Concrete Sealer X-6 is a DIY type product which is easy to apply using a roller, sprayer or trowel at any temperature between 50 and 100°F. The surface to be treated does not need any special treatment but it must be oil, paint, adhesive and dust free to allow proper adhesion of the product. It will cover approximately 75 to 125 sq. ft. per gallon depending on the application method and only a single coat is required.

Concrete Sealer X-6 should be mixed thoroughly until uniform before application with a mechanical mixer attached to a power drill. The best effect is achieved with a napless solvent resistant roller on smooth surfaces or a short nap roller on irregular surfaces. Pour a 6" wide strip approximately 2 feet long then pull the roller towards yourself with only a modest amount of pressure to achieve an even film and do not over-roll or press down to heavy, the idea is to form a texture as shown in the pictures for maximum anti-slip characteristics.  Allow 24 hours for the coating to cure before traffic and exterior surfaces should be protected from rain. It can also be applied through a sprayer suitable for grit containing coatings or spread on the surface using a trowel. For metal surfaces it is recommended that a metal primer is used prior to application.

Concrete Sealer X-6 is extremely durable, however the surface must be kept clean of greases and oils etc. to maintain the anti-slip characteristics and Concrete Cleaner #1 is recommended. This coating meets OSHA and ADA requirements for safety.  

Concrete Sealer X-6 is a ready to use  single component coating which unlike two component products it can be returned to the container for future use and it has shelf life of at least two years.

Concrete Cleaner #1

Concrete Cleaner #1 is a highly concentrated product which can be used to clean and degrease concrete, masonry, bricks, stone, mortar and stucco. This product will remove most stains including oils, tar, dirt, grime, adhesives, resins, paints and graffiti.

Concrete Cleaner #1 can be used to clean concrete driveways, sidewalks, patios, parking lots, factory and garage floors, basements, walls, storage tanks, pipes, cinder blocks, mortar and stucco.

Concrete Cleaner #1 is diluted 100:1 with water for light duty cleaning, 10:1 for normal cleaning, 5:1 for heavy duty cleaning and can be used straight if necessary when removing excessive amounts of oil, grease and paint. When used straight Concrete Cleaner #1 will clean approximately 100 square feet per gallon. The product can be fed through a pressure washer for easy dilution and application and then rinsed off thoroughly. If stubborn stains persist the product can be poured directly on to the stain and then worked in with a stiff brush for 10 minutes and then rinsed off. Even when used undiluted this product will not cause any damage to the concrete because it is not acidic unlike other cleaners based on muriatic acid which actually dissolve the concrete to remove the stains.
